Mindful Consent at Sxhibition BNE

On the 28-30 November I was asked to take the stage to share the unique consent work that is Mindful Consent at the inaugural Sxhibition lifestyle festival in Brisbane.

Sxhibition has been modeled on the very successful world-wide franchise Sexpo, which has changed hands in the last 3 years due to mismanagement.

I was proud to take the stage and share the Mindful Consent model with different rooms of attendees, not just talking about consent - but actually showing it in action as I used the model in a practical way to negotiate spontaneous demonstrations with audience members.

This approach to putting theory into practice does have risks, but the benefits outweigh as I can show members of the general public how to negotiate consent using my model in down-to-earth language and in my customary disarming manner.

I have found that over the last 15 years that I have been presenting different alternative lifestyle workshops, attendees just need good modelling to take the initiative to try the activity - and this is no different with the practice of consent conversations!

I am proud to bridge the gap yet again between theory and practicum with yet another audience in a different Australian city, and hope I can continue to present at Sxhibition next year when they return in 2026 - perhaps to Sydney and Melbourne!
